Social Media Policy

The Japan Convention Management Association (hereinafter, “JCMA” or “the association”) has established its social media policy (hereinafter, “the policy”) for information dissemination through official social media accounts. JCMA will operate in compliance with laws and regulations as well as this policy.

1. Objectives

JCMA aims to spread awareness of the association and increase awareness of the MICE industry by communicating with its members and society through social media.

2. Operation Policy

  1. JCMA will approach social media with integrity.
  2. JCMA will strive to comply with various laws, compliances, and rules of the association.
  3. JCMA will handle confidential information regarding the association and its business partners, as well as the personal information of related individuals, with the utmost care.

4. Policy for Posts (Replies, Comments, Reposts, Quoted posts), Direct Messages, Following, etc.

Regarding responses to posts, direct messages, and inquiries.

JCMA is not obligated to respond to posts, direct messages and inquiries made through the aforementioned tools on its official account. For inquiries or feedback to JCMA, please contact the secretariat via email at the address below.

Regarding following of accounts

JCMA will not follow all users who follow its official account.

5. Disclaimer

  • JCMA does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any information on its social media.
  • Information posted on JCMA accounts may be subject to change or deletion without prior notice.
  • JCMA is not responsible for any damages arising from users’ use of or inability to use social media.
  • JCMA assumes no responsibility for content posted by users.
  • JCMA bears no responsibility for any disputes between users or between users and third parties.
  • JCMA cannot provide any information regarding the operational status of social media systems, the operation of social media companies, or the functionalities of applications provided by third parties.

6. Prohibited Matters

Comments determined to fall under the following categories may be deleted, in whole or in part, without notice to the user.

  • Comments disclosing or leaking personal information without the individual’s consent.
  • Comments that defame or slander JCMA or third parties, or damage their image or reputation.
  • Comments that infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, or image rights of JCMA or third parties.
  • Comments that violate laws or public order and morals.
  • Comments impersonating third parties.
  • Comments uploading harmful programs.
  • Comments related to political activities, religious activities, or commercial purposes.
  • Comments deemed inappropriate by JCMA for any other reason.

7. Copyright

Except for acts recognized under copyright law such as private use or quotation, reposting or other use of information posted on the association’s official accounts without permission from JCMA is prohibited. When quoting, please always indicate the source.

8. Policy Changes

JCMA may change the policy without prior notice.

9. Suspension or Deletion

JCMA may suspend or delete any of its official accounts without prior notice.

10. Personal Information

JCMA will appropriately manage any personal information which it acquires in accordance with the “Privacy Policy” established by the association.
